Thanks for all the input and support guys. I just got back from the shop. The frame is still in great shape. The gas tank doesn't even have a dent in it. The bumpers that slide in and out of the frame really saved me but they did get bent. It looks like the Volvo actually went under my car which was good and it probably helped a lot that when I saw it coming in my mirror I let off the brake just in time to ease the impact. The insurance adjuster will be here tomorrow to take a look at it. obviously I'm going to try and squeeze every penny I can out of it with out it being totaled. According to Haggerty and Hemmings without having the car appraised it should still be valued around $20k give or take. If I'm not happy with the quote I'm going to lawyer up. I actually used to work for the shop that it is at. I did all the body and paint work while I was working there so at least my old boss can vouch for me on that as to why I have no receipts. I doubt I will be able to replace the entire body but I just don't like the idea of someone trying to form a new rear half by hand for me.

Out of curiosity are there any opinions on how much I could sell the Vette for? as a crash victim as is and what I could get for it say if I never got hit or repaired it? If you were in the market what would be a reasonable price tag to put on it?
You should be able to get that fixed. If the frame wasn't tweaked, then you are fine. Some fiber glass work and some paint is all you need to get you back to the state that you were already in. Don't worry man, you will be fine.
Alright as I suspected it worse than it looks to the naked eye. Got the car up in the air for another look. Body is broken all around the body mounts. I realized this when I noticed the paint was chipped along the door jam. Remember the Vulva was traveling 40MPH and didn't touch the brakes. I was dead stopped. Needless to say it shook the Vette so hard that it knocked the front licence plate off.
If the insurance company decides to total the Vette I'll be buying it back and parting it out. I'll start a new thread for that but feel free to start messaging me to start putting in your bids early
You and me both. That poor Vette got shook :-/ still runs and drives fine though. My old boss let me use his new dodge ramp truck to tow it home and before I parked her in the garage I did my first brake stand in that car for a little video to share with everyone. I just don't want to put it on YouTube yet for insurance purposes. But I think when y'all see it you might fall in love with the sound :-) I know I love it!

…. Man knows when to keep his mouth shut.
…just watch yourself man, my old professor had a rough night one time and got her car trashed. It hailed and a storm came the next few days and did a number on her car. Her car was in a flood in Louisiana. With that said, the storm damage was less than the previous damage. But the damages were believable and the insurance company was going to replace her car. She then posted something small about it online (I believe FB?) about how she was going to get a new car and that the insurance company were fools for replacing her car after she pretty much destroyed it. Well the next thing she knows…she gets a call from her insurance adjuster and says he needs to go over some things. They meet and he pulls up the post and said to explain it. ………Turns out that the adjuster's sibling was friends with my teach and saw the post. She did not know at the time they were related. Naturally, the sibling passed it on to the insurance adjuster.
…..She did not get a new car, and they dropped her.
So smart idea, even if it was not your fault. Wait until you have what you are expecting to "Celebrate or whatever" because "it aint over 'til its over."
You just never know who is reading these post.
Best of luck,
Brandon.

Reason: spelling error
You mean telling him Volvo's are safe and that is why the car will crumble and crush easily to cushion the passenger compartment keeping the passengers safe?
Have you considered getting the Vette off the island somehow? If you don't have access to a donor or shop or know how to do this job, I can't imagine any sort of repair like this is going be done for even a remotely resonable price on Nantucket. Maybe you can find a boater who knows how to work with fiberglass? Ship her out to Stan in Walpole.
