Hi MFT,
Is the upper ball joint installed in the correct position in the right side upper a-arm?
In the picture it appears to be sitting UNDER the a-arm surface rather than ABOVE it?
Maybe?
Regards,
Alan

I noticed that to Alan, just thought it was a different type of ball joint. Now that you mention it I could see how you could attach that from below. Good catch!
Also hard to see if the bolts are the right way on the steering rod off the spindle.

That is quite a tolerance. I can only get back 3-4 bottles of dumbass before I turn Bubba.

Glad to see another '69 getting freshened up. Goodluck!

im in the middle/end of the same thing on by 69' 427/400 conv,,my only advise is

1.take tons of pics
2.write down each and every stamping and casting number
3.take tons of pics
4.ask alot of questions
5.paint everything, even the bare metal parts [i like satin clear] so nothing rusts, because you will want to drive it wnen you have spent so much time and money making it perfect
6.buy the 5-6 restoration/reference books out there, and dont forget the copy of the factory assembly manual[everybody can help by listing the names],join the NCRS-buy the judging/facts books
7.clean every nut/bolt/washer/bracket/mount/part ,but while doing this document every factory mark/number thats writen inside/underneth and or anywere else you find them[the guys on the assembly line wrote lots]
8.find the factory build sheet[1 ontop of the fuel/gas tank,2 maybe behind the dash-behind the speedo]
9.try to find the previse owners, they can be great info
10.last but not least,,,when ''alan 71'' speaks-do what ever he says, hes quite a wealth of knowlage

Can anyone explain this body date. Does it mean it was 3rd off the line or something else?

I'm sure others will chime in, but it might mean 3rd shift?

I got my '69 frame together last fall. It's at the body shop getting paint now. Went from this:

To this:

Keep up the work and send us pics!

That's a friend's '63. It's been sitting there for a couple years now. I wish it was mine! Beautiful car. At least mine has good company!

Looks real nice so far, if going for correctness calipers need to be black, if not keep up the great work still looks good to me no matter which way you go. I had mine cast grey before the forum let me know about the black.
