Default Tire size?

The tank sticker says F70 x 15 white stripe and the tires on the car now are P235/70 B 15. What should they be?

P215/70R15 is the metric equivalent of the OEM F70x15 tire. A P235/70R15 is equal to a H70x15.

Hi CA,
The present day equivalent of the F70-15 tire is a 215-70-15 tire.
This tire is very close to height and width of the original.
By today's standards it looks a bit skimpy because the present tire has 'rounded' shoulders, while the F70 tire has very 'square' shoulders which fill the wheel well opening a bit better.
Many people use a 225-70-15 tire which gives a good appearance.
Your present tire is close to that, (it's a little taller and wider), and might be fine for your situation and tastes.
Regards,
Alan

Thank you gbvette62. I wondered what the first numbers should be.

Thank you Alan. The tires on the car now look good and they do fill the wheel well nicely but I think they might be a smidge too big....I'm afraid they might rub with a hard turn.
