After reading many posts about the condition of the birdcage, I became worried about mine. This is partly a deciding factor if I am going to pull the body and do a frame up restoration. I don't doubt my abilities to do a lot of the work, in fact I enjoy it and I'm looking forward to it; however if the birdcage is in terrible shape, I'm not going to mess with taking the body off. I'll just fix everything else and drive it.
This weekend while putting the doors back together, I ventured a bit and took off the kick panel to see what I could see. And this is what I saw. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised as to the condition. I believe she's a keeper. By the way, most of that is dust/dirt.
Good on ya mate! I'm happy for you. I wasn't so lucky. I had to replace my Bird Cage with one from a '76, all the while moving the clips and brackets from the original. But that's all in the past. Got a solid Cage now.
