ownership. Sold the 79 L-82 today. Had it for 15 years. Sold it back to the previous owner. It has been over 30 years since I haven't had some type of Corvette and seems a little strange. Getting older now and I am not sure if I am up to another project. Time will tell if I get a yearning for another one.
don't be wimpy...lol I am 64 and am finishing my c2 and then will move on to a body on off on my c3....you are never to old unless physically unable. love that the previous owner bought back, how cool.

I have developed some medical issues, they played into the decision to let this one go.

Getting older sucks- last year I had to have some body parts removed . I always liked the looks of your car, and can relate about the "projects". I just sold my '93 and also getting the '75 ready for sale. I'm going to move over to a C5 and see how that pans out. I'm getting to the point where I'd rather just drive one than restore one.
Yeah....I ve had this 74 26 years, the 65 for seven years before that....66 for three years before that.
I had thought s of selling it in the past 10 years......like a puppy it seems to hang around. It's fun and reliable.
When mentioned it to friends about being vettless.....they looked at me strange ....you can 't do that .......me having these cars was part of their memories too.
Wifey complained when we were first married some.....I paid more attention to my corvette addiction ....
Now she wonders what trouble I'll get into without my cars .
Tough decision to make, I'm sure. But at least it went back to the PO and he must be happy with it. These are tough cars to deal with. We've had C2's in the shop and the C3 dash, is way worse to deal with. If you ever get the desire to have another cool vehicle in your life, there are plenty of options, that are easier ownership experiences than a C3. One of them, that I'd like are the 68-75 Chevy "Short and Wide" pickups. Easy to work on, customize and the one we had, got looks and attention, everywhere it went!

Working on and getting under the 'old girl' is good exercise. I'd rather work on my cars (doing less per hour, of course ) than just sit around or watch TV. I still get a sense of accomplishment every time I do something on a car.....if it works when I get done.
My second gen Camaro.....is easy to maintain. Very straight forward. Clutch switch is the worst item I've dealt with one the Camaro
Cabin is so much more comfortable , zero heat only cool fresh air all around you. Wife loves the Camaro., says she is keeping it , selling the vette when I croak

I don't think any ill will was intended. When you get into your 60s things start to happen and some are serious. I pulled a back muscle three weeks ago (not serious) doing repairs on my 1974 that never would have happened 10 years ago. Annoying yes but more profound illnesses can impact your view on life and your priorities. I suspect Pete is in such a situation. I respect his decision and his disclosure here.
