I am new into the corvette search. I would like to have a black or red, big block convertible. I saw somewhere on here that they stopped making black in 1969? Is that correct? If so when did they begin to produce them again? Thanks for any help.
Thanks for all of the help guys!!!!! I am looking for a 1970, preferably big block (would take a 350), preferably numbers matching, chrome bumper, manual transmission. In red I guess since black doesn't really sound like an option. Might consider white if the deal was right. Im in Texas but would be willing to travel.

TO me next best thing to black is Steel City Gray or this version of it. May be worth looking into. I would ask more questions because it seems to not have original motor which should bring the asking price down.
We don't know if you're an experienced C3 buyer or not, but I highly recommend you carefully review the sticky at the top of the forum, before you go out and buy a C3 Corvette. It may save you a lot of grief and money later on, believe me.
