Default Throttle Cable

Could I ask someone to post a picture of their throttle cable, including where/how the cable is mounted aft of the carb, where the end of the cable is attached to the carb, and the return spring. Small block ’68 with a quadrajet. I’m looking for the typical factory installation. I’m having several problems with mine that have me stumped. First, my throttle cable appears too long (doesn’t work well with the mount and comes loose), and second the full travel of my gas pedal doesn’t fully open the carb. Thanks.

I'm not sure why but assume because a Holley had been fitted on my 70 SBC Auto the throttle cable had a pronounced S in it between the carb and firewall and the primary throttle plates only opened to about 11 o'clock. It was suggested to me that the fix for this was to bend the throttle arm under the throttle pedal or put a spacer on the inner wire inside the firewall to take up the slack. You cant just take out the slack at the carb end without upsetting the actuation of the electric kick down button on the inner firewall (the pedal arm actuates this) I elected to cut the carb end of the cable off, shorten the outer cover and inner wire then hard solder on the end again. Sorry can't help you with further with the carb end mounting as it has now been modified for the 200r4 transmission tv cable.
