I can understand that if the car is not factory correct...but there are certain areas that SHOULD be correctly assembled and re-unforced. OR...problems MAY show up due to lack of structure and support.

Got it, thanks for the clarity. I dropped you a PM but I will ask my questions here also. My work area is a car port albeit a large one. However, it's still exposed to the elements. Did these cars come with Gel Coat applied and does fiber glass absorb moisture if exposed? I ask because as I work down into the panels the glass will be exposed, in some areas, to the elements for a period of time.

Slowly, I hauled it down to Collision One over the holidays and its been there since. Spoke to them yesterday and long story short they will begin work on the body this week. They will be sending photos of the progress so I'll post them as they come in.

Good eye, yes it is. I decided to go with an extended L88 hood to get rid of the wiper door. I think it will be a much cleaner look and remove the task of restoring the wiper door and developing an electric actuator.

Attaching a few photos of the car with the slick sand applied. I have to say that I am getting excited about getting this back. We're going to spray it in Long Beach red, which is an option on the 2017 stingrays. Will also shoot black in the middle of the hood along with a stingray, which will show through in the red.

Almost done...love this color. I also added a little one-off accent to the hood.

Great thread I've learned a great deal. Nice work, love the paint choice and graphics. Looking forward to the finished product.

Thanks and me to. It's taken a lot longer than I had hoped but since I started this I've come to expect these things.

The top finally got sorted out. Initially, once they placed it on the car it was not fitting properly. This top was done at Coffman Corvette and is a piece of art...cept it didn't fit so paper weight piece of art at that point. You may be thinking that I am criticizing Coffman but that is not the case. I gave them a call and Clint got on the phone with Collision One and they got it straightened out. I share this because their customer service was on the money! Couldn't be happier with Coffman, great operation and product. Turns out we only needed to swap the outer latches and boom, perfect fit.

Hood graphic. Now on to the interior...after a little bit of spirited driving.
