Yup, sure was, and $$$ too, I need visit up there and steal his wheels/tires, I like them muchly.....and that hood is NICE great car man...
Thanks, it turned out nice. However, if I went back I may not go with the extended hood. We had to do a lot of rework to get it to fit properly and the wings on the fenders had to be reworked so the lines were clean. Those hoods are NOT bolt on pieces as we found out.
Been working on some interior parts during winter months. The inner fender panels were pretty rough so I bought new ones from Corvette America. However, when I tried to put them on those suckers would not fit (line up right). No matter what I did they were simply off enough to prevent the holes lining up with the body slots. So I decided to restore mine.
I started by sourcing new female inserts and drilling out the old ones. I epoxied the new ones in and it seems to have worked quite well.
Once I placed the inserts I cleaned them up and primed and painted the backs. I sourced some leather and spray adhesive to wrap the front sides. I did this because there were several cracks that I repaired that this wrap will cover up nicely.
Today I cut the leather to size and wrapped the first one. This was harder than I thought but probably because I haven't does this before. I think it'll be easier on the second one.
