Default another brake question

As I stated in a another thread I was going to rebuild the master cylinder first because it is the cheapest to do first. I checked the numbers on it, and it shows to be for a 76 with power brakes. With it being delco, do I need to use delco rebuild kit or is there another brand I can use? If so can you recommend a quality name brand? This may be a stupid question but I looked at the ms. cylinder the back reservoir fluid I could see the bottom of it, but could not do the same on the front. I would think if someone changed the fluid the clarity in the front and back would be the same.

To recap the problem is I lost my brakes one day while driving, no problem before. Most think it is master cylinder. I have already check the booster by pumping the pedal and then starting the motor. It checked out fine. I have looked at the calipers and see no fluid anywhere.
Thanks for any help
Larry

I would think any quality brand rebuild kit would work (rookie opinion).

You might want to flush the brake lines at the caliper bleed screws while you are rebuilding the master cylinder so there will be clear fresh brake fluid throughout the system.

BE SURE TO BENCH-BLEED THE MASTER CYLINDER before re-installing it onto the firewall, or you will have much trouble getting the brakes to work properly........

(don't ask me how I know this )

It's for your BRAKES, man. Go to NAPA and tell them you want the best M/C rebuild kit available. With all the gypo stuff floating around the aftermarket now, why scrimp a few bucks and risk your car...or your life?

I've had a couple of master cylinders the last few years. USA rebuilt and new AC Delco (made in China). Didn't last long. I've heard that most newer rebuild kits are China supplied and that, in general, China made rubber products are sub standard. So, long story short, try to find a US, Canadan, Japanese, etc. made rebuild kit.
