When I go to start my 76 after a few days it takes a bit for it to fire
I pump gas first but that doesn't seem to help
I was wondering maybe the ignition should be on when I pump it
It just seems like its not getting fuel at first
I ask because I have an older 68 Torino and I pump it first and it starts thanks
Before starting, remove the air filter housing, operate the carb linkage to see if you're getting a good squirt of fuel. Then looksee if the choke linkage is setting itself closed. Proper starting procedure: accel pedal to floor, release then halfway hold and start engine. If you don't see the a good squirt of fuel, maybe the carb is draining down. If that be the case you could try cranking the engine a bit to replace the missing fuel in the carb, then try the start procedure. Just some things to check. T
