I got a 77 with stock wheel I bought a set of aftermarket wheels that came off of a 70 vette the front rub the back of the tire when I turn if they fit the 70 shouldn't they fit mind the wheels came with 225 70 15 I had 255 60 15 on the stock wheels ?
They are 8" wheels the same as the stock ones was going to put the 255 60 on the aftermarket wheels but I guess I will do some checking on the offset first
70's actually sat slightly lower, than 77's. The 68-72 Corvettes used solid body mounts, while 73-82 used rubber cushions, that raise the body some.
Where exactly is it rubbing? In your first post you say it's the "back of the tire", but your most recent one says the tire is rubbing on the "lower part of the fender"?
The bodies mfg. tolerances were VERY tolerant (throw in 40+ years of wrecks and repairs) and you can pull a set off one car and put them on another and they can rub. /:\
