Default Steering Column Paint

Can someone recommend a supplier for the paint used on the steering column, telescopic lever and horn button on 78-82 Corvettes?
I accidentally scratched my horn button with my college class ring on my finger while driving one day.

SEM can be used on metal parts.

I used the interior trim paint from MidAmerica. Corvette America as well as other vendors have it. I noticed that some vendors buy from other people and put their label in the spray cans. I recommend buying the primer, color, and semi gloss clear. Clean up parts with scotch brite and apply very light coats. You don't want any runs. That way you can cover until you get a good coat and still leave some of the texture.

If those parts are the same color as the other interior parts/panels, just order some SEM [liquid] ColorCoat (dye) mixed to your interior's color code. It will match great and is fine to use as 'paint' on interior metal parts, too.

P.S. Then you will have some good interior dye for doing all those interior panel touch-ups that are 'waiting'.

Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm a newbie... What does SEM stand for?

Paint brand. Excellent interior paints. Use the same SEM paint for your column as used to re-dye or touch up interior parts.
