Interesting living in the frozen North and, it seems, that you do have a unique set of problems...especially the salt! That snow makes for a pretty picture to put on my computer desktop, but I think I will stay down here in Florida drinking Mojitos' and drive my vette year round.

My Wife and friends play tennis at a friend's condo each year. A pic from last year. She is going down in two weeks. We can seek relief from winter. But you know, I really like the snow.
You all should get together and set a date and all drive your vettes down here for a week. Then you can cruise the beaches in the best weather there is and enjoy your vehicles. I won't lie, our winters are what we look forward too all year long. The summers with the humidity sucks. But now that there is a breeze and the temps dropped from 100 to 75, its simply gorgeous. Whats better is that I can spend it with my wife! Its been one year since she was diagnosed and treated. Hair is growing back and theres a smile on her face.!!!
Been in your shoes Brother. Been three years since my wife was diagnosed and treated. Would love to take a road trip with the vette and the wife to your neck of the woods, JUst have to change my gearing.
I still have to do it the old fashioned way........
I guess I am older than you cause my old fasion consists of a shovel no matter how deep. We had gotten about 32" in one falling once a few years ago. plows didnt even come up our street for 4 days. I couldnt wait so I shoveled my way out to my old k10 with 37" and 1tons. and actually plowed our street with it by continuing to ram right thru it. all the way to the main road. then finally when a plow did come up our street, it got stuck and I had to pull it out. lol

Yeah it's hard sometimes to "re-gear" your life. We are all on this track, that seems hard to get off. Until something important happens in our lives that wakes us up. But that usually only lasts a little while then your back on the tracks earning and paying those same damn bills. I wish your wife well. Enjoy what you have now, we never know when what the future holds.
This would be purgatory for me . I'd go nuts ....a hate snow .....skiing , winter , cold , ice , frost , blizzards, snow removal, snow shovels , dread going outdoors ....worse
I just hate wearing a ton of cloths and crawling under twenty blankets to stay warm.
Snow is cool...two days a year Dec 24 and 25 , maybe 26 th ....after that I'm dun....give me daylight and warmth ..please .
I'll put the top up on the vette late Dec ....drive top up most days till late March.
You can still drive .....just put the hardtop on your snowmobile
My wife for some reason doesn't mind the cold and snow up here. She actually wants to see if her back can handle snowmobiling (she's had 2 spinal fusions after getting hit by a drunk driver). I am not a fan of the cold nor shoveling/blowing out the driveway.
I retire this June so hopefully I am in my last full winter up here. I am definately going to ask you all where to rent in Florida for the winter. Will need secure pkg as I plan on driving the 72 down late fall, flying back and bringing my wife in the dd. I just want to cruise the beaches etc top down during the winter months.
I got started late this summer swapping the new engine in so the 72 hit the road 2 week of August but still managed to put 1500 or so miles on it.
Brian, where would you suggest that I take Anne to try out snowmobiling? She hasn't been on one in years, I just am very doubtfull that her back could handle it.
We could figure something out up here for her. Unfortunately my present and previous sleds weren't really set up for passengers; but lots of friends in the neighbourhood.

Oddly enough, while I completely agree with you and prefer the warmth and nice weather and often hate all the aggravation that comes with winter, I would seriously miss the seasons if I moved to a warm weather year-round climate. Maybe that comes with growing up in New England but I love the fall and I actually like the winter (for a little while). It makes Spring even better, too.
Makes running off to Kissimmee in the middle of it all that much more fun.
K.I.Sawyer AFB (Northern Michigan - U.P.) - 1965. Wasn't the worst but the only picture I have. We usually tied a ribbon, scarf, etc. on the radio antenna so we didn't dig out the wrong car. Have a great weekend, Bill
did the last of the leaves today. changed the oil in the lawnmower and put it away. vette has been covered up for hibernation. the snowblower was moved into place behind the vette ready for action. hope we all have a safe winter.
