On the rare occasion here that the snow gets locked in for a couple of weeks, then yes, I can relate.
On a high note, winter here ain't like the Great White North's kind of season. You guys there are a tough breed to put up with those sub-zero temps, the way you do.
I can relate. Temperature here this morning in the 40s. Not such a big deal until you factor in wind gusts up to 40 MPG. That translates into a handful of cars at the cars and coffee this morning instead of 100+. It looks like winter is on it's way.
Yup, every year its the same thing... good time to get the tools out and work on it. With my garage PC i can stream movies etc, have a few cold one and dream of warmer days
I guess that I will be a dissenting voice here. The seasons come and go. When September arrives I am pretty much resigned to the coming snow, sleet, freezing rain, etc. If the summer has given me pleasurable Corvette driving times I have no real regrets in tucking it away for ~six months. C'est la vie. Just makes April a time to look forward to.
Absolutely!, I use to love in the 60's/70's everyone would be firing up the Vettes, Hemi GTX's, Mach 1's, and rat motered Chevelles come April, the sounds of a muscle car coming back to life in the spring...happy times
I put mine on jack stands last week. There she will sit, until early April.
Thats 6 months of watching it just sit in the garage. Ill tinker on it over the winter but all the major work Ive already done. (last winter)
Im glad Im 40+ years old and dont mind paying my relatively inexpensive insurance premiums. I remember when I was younger, Id have to park the car for the winter and turn in the plates, get it registered all over again in the summer. (Because I couldnt afford to pay insurance eon a car that just sat)
Those sounds are definitely something to look forward to. Unfortunately it wasn't April this year. By the time the roads has been swept it was May 18th before I even had it in the driveway. I kinda feel like I was cheated a month this year. Oh well, we have no control over the weather. Let's just hope for a mild winter, that everyone on the forum comes through unscathed.

Last winter was a really bad one. But I had my car out and home in early April. Did not drive it until May, however. Even then it was iffy and not a real pleasure. But that is Canada!
My Club persuaded me to do this in early May with 40*F temps and rain. Actually it was a fun show! Clean-up afterward was not a real chore.
This year I stored it commercially with the soft top up. I have done that in the past. No problem with the Haarzt StayFast. Great top material.
Down here in West Palm Beach it was a nice 74, with a breeze. Took the tee tops off and went for a ride. Then picked my daughter up from school. This is really the only time I really drive it. The summers down here are just to hot, and our vettes do have a problem with keeping heat in the cabin instead of out. LOL.
You guys with the warm weather - you're lucky. You guys with the stoic statements are liars - you know as well as anyone that you will miss looking out in your garage at that masterpiece design, especially come the dog days of winter. And yes, I have snowmobiles and skis, but nothing beats an evening cruise with my wife, or wondering how it got in my garage - now storage facility. Brian K. Is the most honest one of us of us all .
