Default A/C compressor

Can someone please tell me if model # 5910781 is an original A/C compressor for a 70 model with factory air. The 781 is the compressor that was on my car that I changed out with a remanufactured one which is model # 5910741. If the 781 is original I would like to keep it otherwise I will turn it in for the core charge. Does anyone have a judging manual that will show the correct one.

Thanks in advance

Jay

Does anybody know. I do not want to keep it unless it is original. Other than the model number is there any other way to identify it.

Jay,

My parts interchange manual shows # as 5910432.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge of the 70 can chime in here.

I have the Judging Guide, but cannot check until this evening.

You can order a copy through the NCRS.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have only been able to find conflicting information as far as compressor part numbers. Mike if you can check the judging manual and let me know I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Jay

Jay,

Manual says 741 for the 350 and 740 for the 454.

781 doesn't belong on a 70-72 Vette.

Hello Steve,

That is exactly the information that I was looking for. The 741 is on the car now and working good. The car is a 350/350hp convertible with air so I wanted it to be the correct number compressor. I will turn in the 781 for the core charge or maybe just post in the parts for sale section to see if anybody needs it for another application.

Thanks again

Jay
