Unless it's been modified, the BB is going to be an overweight slug. They were pretty well neutered by 73.

Convertible=Chick magnet!

(If you already have the Chick......just buy the SBC Magnet)

If you can't stand fresh air/sunshine/people waving at you....get the BB Coupe.....and a larger gas tank.

But seriouslier.......get the style that you like best.

to me all c3s are convertible. the good thing about the ttop ones is if you add the removable window you got a roadster with roll bar. I have never been a fan of verts on vettes from c2-c7 while top is on, top down they look sweet though.

IMO a convertible is no big deal, I would take a BB coupe all day.

Depends on your use of the car, DD/anything close....SB VERT,

BB is for drag racing it, since MPG is not important....

Both have good and bad points. All things being equal, go for the one in the best shape.

I wanted my last c3 and it had to be a convertible, I sold a very nice 76 because it was just a coupe and after a lot of research making into a real convertible was just insane,
My 69 convertible came with a small block and I fixed that by dropping a 454 in there, yeah, it's warmed up, but overweight? with aluminum heads a bb weighs about the same as a iron head small block, but hey, it's a bb,
MPG, in my case my bb's have also beat my small blocks on mpg if that really matters in a vette,
So why not get what YOU like best not what each person on a forum likes best?

Now Bats.....admit that with the SBC, it got bad gas mileage because you cut a hole in the floorboard under the gas pedal so you could push the gas pedal farther down for the extra power!

One of my rules for my purchase was that the car had to be a coupe. I love the flying buttress look on the coupes and the convertible hardtop just doesn't come close.

Vert... every time, nothing like it. I don't have a BB (had one) an I love my little L79-327 she will get down off the porch and howl a little as well.

For me the big block has the WOW factor.Over time what people see first are the numbers on the hood.As much as the power on the 73 was down on the BB it was also down on the SB.In each case the roofs can come off.If the condition of the two cars are the same I would take the BB,they are just more fun.

If the BB car is #s matching Id go for that one. From a investment point of view a #s matching BB car will be worth more in the future. If not, Id go for the vert, the coupes can get a bit hot inside during the summer and the verts are IMHO much more enjoyable to drive.
