I'm going to get flamed here but I like the looks of a coupe with the t tops off and the back window out. It looks like a custom molded roll bar. I don't see the downside, convertibles are noisy, windy, and are less rigid structurally. With the t tops off, you can still get skin cancer without all the downsides.....

My thoughts as well other than the skin cancer but that's just my opinion. Many strongly prefer the convertible over a coupe. A matter of personal preference.
to me all c3s are convertible. the good thing about the ttop ones is if you add the removable window you got a roadster with roll bar. I have never been a fan of verts on vettes from c2-c7 while top is on, top down they look sweet though.
I think convertibles look as good even with the top up. Coupes look drab all of the time with the exception of the T top which only looks good when the tops are off. But then , what do you do with them ? Nope , I'll take a convertible any way you look at it. Wouldn't own anything else.
A few years back I had a 73 convertible, L82 and a 73 coupe, 454. Today I still have the coupe. But as I said earlier the OP should buy the one in the best condition.

This is why you buy a hardtop and use that on your roadster. The convertible pretty much becomes just like a coupe when the hardtop is on. I have had both and can compare.
As for the OP's question, the answer is get both, and then you will not have to decide.
Ironically, I were picking between a BBC or a convertible, Id probably go with convertible. As others have mentioned, they fetch a higher premium, and quite frankly, they are just gorgeous. Coupes are nice too, but a convertible is just that much more awesome.
Its all about that sexy body line on the C3. And the body line just looks a bit better on a convertible with the top down. You just cant beat that. BTW, my vert is a BB.

Just an observation...
BBC haters are all alike, in that they all apparently believe that having/installing one in a C3 is akin to installing a supermassive black hole under the hood which will invariably do nothing other than ruin your shark's performance, handling and economy. IMOE (I've only owned three BB C3s, so far), this has proven to be BS. YMMV.
I would ( and did) go with the vert. There's a lot of up side with the BB though. Tom 73 earlier suggested that you go with the one in better shape and there's a lot of wisdom in that. My guess is you won't be disappointed either way.

kinda leaning toward the BB, but really looking for more pros and cons.
like someone said that a vert is noisey, or the BB is a gas hog.
I don't want a vette for gas mileage. the coupes do look nice and a vert with a black vynil hardtop is sweet too.
are verts any more prone to rot in the frame or such
