AS for a grille..as long as it does not impede any air getting to your radiator. And for what it is worth. If you could possibly incorporate a box that channels the air to the radiator directly...much like what GM did on the 1984-1996 Corvettes....if you feel that the air will be a factor in keeping it running at the temps you want.
I see that you have spent a lot of time on this and have it looking really nice. SO..please excuse my 'unsolicited advice'...because I do not know it you have figured this in or not. So..once again...please excuse me.
BUT...knowing that I have seen many blower belt go flying when I worked on a nitro funny car years ago. Hopefully you could incorporate a guard that will keep the belt from damaging you body work if it decides to go flying.
Air flow is a great concern for me...I need as much as I can get.
My plan is to build a "box" to force the air through the radiator. There are 2 holes just above the spoiler that will let air in as well. I came up with this grill more for a rock guard than anything else and I needed to hide the headlight buckets. I still have to trim it out.
I think the belt guard is a must.
Thank you for your input....it's greatly appreciated.
By no means do I feel you do not have talent...it IS OBVIOUS...you DO!....so PLEASE understand that I am in your 'corner' and NOT telling you what to do. Just 'throwing' ideas out there. A different/fresh perspective....that's all. NOT writing that your perspective is not still fresh.
SO...the sheet in the middle...between your headlights.....is it going to be cut out to allow air to flow??? How about using some stainless steel wire mesh that is about 1/4" square openings in it and place it behind this grille area so you can allow more air in and still protect your cooling system?? I acquired some a long time ago and the wire mesh is stout. Not cheesy thin wire. Just a thought.
So you are planning on covering the headlights??? I am interested in you thoughts. Are you 'playing off of' the hide-away headlights of a 67-69 Camaro....so-to-speak???

I'm open to any and all ideas! LOL! The sheet between the headlights has holes all in it. @ different sizes, one is about a 1/4' and the other is about 1/8". I held it up to a fan I have in the shop and air flow's through it pretty good. Time will tell if it's good enough.
I like the idea of hide-away headlight's....my plan is to trim around them.
I've built several cars over the years but I've always had someone paint them for me. This is the first one I've painted myself. It's not perfect but I'm happy with it. My wife and I did all the body work too.
4 coats of PPG paint and 3 coats of Deltron clear.
