Default Convertible Top
Question. My convertible top has a four inch separation from the rear window. Can a upholstery shop re attach / re weld the seam? Sorry I don't have a picture... Thanks

I had that happen on a car about 15 years ago and the top shop said they could not fit it, but you would think there should be a way to do it...

Are you saying the vinyl window has separated at the seam with the top?
I don't know about re-welding but, I've extended the life of a top by stitching the window back to the seam using fishing line and a small awl/large needle.

The tops are cheap enough and not hard to install yourself. Not worth trying to repair.

Thanks for the replies. I agree Mike I have to go by some shops and show them what I have, just haven't made it there yet. I worst comes to worst I'll try the sewing method.
I think I started the separation problem by having our chairs back there from cruise ins' that we attend. Thanks again
