I'm looking at a 72 coupe in the am. Ontario Orange, black interior, 4 speed, factory a/c, p/s, stock rallys, not LT1. Received NCRS score of 93.8% (according to some papers and ribbons that come with the car). Lots of paperwork, serv man, ***'y man, owner's man, window sticker (I think, but haven't actually seen it yet). Pictures look great inside and out, engine looks all factory and clean. He said there's a small area near the rear window passenger side that has three bubbles in the paint, but the rest excellent.
Here's my question, I'm trading a car that I think is worth around 22K. Is the car I described around the same value? I know it can't be exact, but in general how are 72 manual trans, a/c cars selling these days? Thanks for any help.
I've got a C2 and a C5, in those sections seems like everyone is offering price advice, whether you ask for it or not. Doesn't anyone have a hint for me on what the 72 is worth if all original and no frame or birdcage rust? I'll be driving the C5 down to look at it in the morning and driving one of the two back. Is it worth as much as my 04 CE convertible with 80K miles?
Without pics and just going by what you say the 72 is worth 20k and a straight up trade for your 04 would be a good deal for you.The 72 no doubt has way more upside than your 04.

the o4 and the 72 are close in value, but the 04 is a much better driving and more reiiable car, between the 68-72 c-3s goes something like this
1- 69
2- 70
3- 68
4- 71
5- 72
I made the deal, even trade. One thing I was mistaken about it doesn't have power steering. I may have to add that later, it's a bear in a tight turn.
Also the wiper door opens and closes with the over ride, but the wipers didn't work at all. The wiper switch feels like it's loose or broken inside. That kind of stuff will give me something to do in my old age, I guess. I drove it two hours on the interstate coming home, drove straight and solid, no issues.
Very clean, rust free car, everything sure looks original. Thanks for the advice to everyone.

That's a nice deal for you, and with your C2 experience it will be a piece of cake to get those few things sorted out. I had a 70 T Top (wish I still had it) and there are many similarities. Pilot Dan
Smart move ! You got rid of the C5 before the nightmares began. I had a low miles 2001 C5 convertible and sold it . Don't miss it . That 72 is a great car. Enjoy !
