Hi GG,
It looks from the pictures and your description that you got a nice 72.
Good Luck with it!
It'll probably take some continuing 'tinkering', but it sounds like thats ok with you.
You should consider buying an owner's manual, 72 Assembly Instruction Manual, and 72 Chassis Service Manual. They all will be a help and ensure that you're not tinkering 'blindly'.
Your wiper problem could be several things….. there's a round switch mounted at the bottom of the dash pad below the steering wheel that stops the wipers where ever they are… it could be turned on, or, it might be a switch on the firewall that must be pushed by the wiper door mechanism to ensure the door is fully open before the wipers start, or….???
Regards,
Alan

A box full of papers, including all those books, the original tank sticker, and NCRS judging sheets came with it. Some NCRS ribbons and dealer pamphlets and ads, etc also came with it. There are some other books in there too. I already checked the wiper override switch and the limit switch. I've been out of town today, but I'm going to start troubleshooting with the service manual and ***'y manual tomorrow. I feel like it might be in the wiper switch on the dash, it feels very loose and sloppy when you slide it between speeds.
I have never used my wipers on my 1970 Corvette in 26 years. I just use rainex if I get caught in the rain. But then again I drove from Jacksonville, Fla to Bloomington, Illinois and back without a spare tire..
You'll appreciate putting in power steering later. The only power option in my 69 is power steering, and I love it. Don't need anything else power. Wipers not working is extremely common. The vacuum systems in these cars is a bear to work with, but it'll be a good challenge. You did great. Drive her like you stole her (because you mostly did!)
