Default Calling Ernie at Willcox

Hi Ernie,

I recently ordered and received a temp sender, part number AC6400759 and before I opened the package, I saw that the sender has 2 o-rings installed on it. Called your shop last week and the person that answered the phone was not able to confirm that it was designed to be that way and that it should in fact have 2 o-rings installed on it. He said he needed to ask the guys in the shop and that he would call me right back, but he never did. I also left a message through your "Contact Us" section of your website, but have not received a response through this method of trying to contact you either. All I would like to know is if in fact the temp sender should be installed with both o-rings attached. Please let me know when you have a chance. Thanks!

typically no O ring is used since it uses pipe thread. If you google "6400759 sender" lots of images no O ring.

I've never seen a sender with an o-ring either. It looks like there are install instructions in the bag - did you open the package and see if they say anything about the o-rings?

In regards to contacting Willcox - I would just keep calling. I had the same experience when I had an issue with an order (no callback, no response to e-mail). I REALLY want to give my biz to Willcox, since they are so active here and provide so much free help info on their website, but I'm rethinking that since I've had issues on my last two orders. Not sure if they are growing too fast, or if I just had bad luck on my orders...

Me too ! Talked to Tommy Wilcox and they were going to credit my card for a bad oil sender but they never did.

Bradly- I hate it that you had an issue, (bad luck for both of us). If you don't mind please email me at Support@willcoxcorvette.com

TPFarm- Send me a message and I'll get that credit done for you asap. Support@willcoxcorvette.com

The manufacturer of the senders started putting these useless o-rings in the sending units and I have no idea why. Please just discard them and install as usual.

When you install them, what do you put on the treads?

Hmmm...I emailed Wilcox about a month ago inquiring about an interior package, and guess what? No response/reply/email. That's ok. I've settled on another vendor.

OK Ernie, e-mail sent, but you might want to check with your IT guy to see why you seem to be losing so many e-mails....

P.S. It turns out I'm missing two refund credits also...

P.P.S. Just got your automated 'Special Offers' response to my e-mail (to Support@Willcox.com) - could that be causing the e-mails to get lost?

I tried them once. Took 3 tries to get my order shipped even though they sent me a message saying my order shipped it never did. Finally they shipped it and the parts were packaged wrong so the parts were damaged. I never gave them a second chance and I'm glad I didn't .

Hey guys. As for my OP, I was finally able to speak with one of the guys a few days ago by emailing back and forth through their support@willcoxcorvette.com email address. It was confirmed that the temp sender should not have the O-rings attached and both of them should be removed before installing. Apparently, the vendor that made the sender had installed the O-rings for unknown reasons. As for the instructions, there was no mention of the O-rings. The instructions basically advised to install the sender without any sealant on the threads. As for the others that posted regarding the concern of the lack of communication or follow-up, hopefully you can work out each of your concerns with them on an individual basis. The guys at Willcox have always been extremely helpful to all of us here on the forum and I am sure there is good reason as to why they have not been receiving some of our emails...Thanks~

I put Teflon tape on the first three threads only. The teflon tape is a lubricant not a sealant, which aides in seating the NPT threads of the sender.

Your valve credit has been done, I checked this and made sure of it today.

tpfarm- Tommy had your sender on his desk and forgot to do it. It is done as well.

We are right smack in the middle of a complete over-haul of the site. The updates and changes will make things way better for everyone.

I will have a chat with IT tomorrow and see what is going on. Please keep in mind that since Dec 23rd up to last Monday the 5th we were actually open 2 days. There might be an issue on the main willcox email address. Emails coming into Support are getting to me just fine. Two months ago, when Tommy went on vacation I started messing with the spam filters so this might be my fault. We get so much spam and it just gets worse every day. I assure you I'll resolve this issue.

Tbone.. I personally responded to your thread show below. with a automated email address for your price. This email address automatically forwards you the best discount code available when you request it. Its fully automated and working perfectly. . https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-interior.html

Default I received my credit.

I had a return to Willcox; I called, got the OK, returned the item and got a full credit.
