Do you want stock exhaust? Most of the vendors carry complete stock replacements - pipes to mufflers and the hangers.

So your looking for something non stock. Honestly exhaust sound is like looking for women. Everyone likes something different. Some here love Flowmaster some here hate them. My advice if you can is listen to as many as you can and make your own decision. Then go find a good exhaust shop and have them bend you up a nice system. I had ARH build me a system from the cylinder heads on back. Not cheap but it fits and sounds awesome.

I agree, Have been listing to you tube videos, C3 corvettes at Corvettes at Carlisle. Very hard to get a good sound.
Thank you for the Pic of your exhaust. Looks good.
What brand of Mufflers are you using?

Mufflers are a custom unit built by ARH. I gave them the go ahead for anything and ARH said these will outflow most anything on the market.

Here is a unique sound clip of mine

I have a 69 427 as well. I replaced my stock system with 2.5 inch pipes & magnaflow mufflers keeping the stock manifolds. It sounds very nice. Nice deap rumble at the idle, and then opens up when you get on the gas. You don't need to go a spend a ton like Gordonm to make a nice sound.

You don't want flow masters, they are to loud in the cabin of the car. It will make your brain rattle. Plus you won't hear the radio.

Good Luck in your choice.

If you can't hear your radio over your exhaust, your amp isn't big enough

Who said I spent a ton on it. I never said what I spent on it I just said it was a very high dollar system. And no you don't need to spend a lot for good sound. I had Flowmasters on mine and they did not drone in the cabin. They were delta Flow 50s with an H pipe. As I said above exhaust is a matter of personal preference.

Doesn't sound like its something you be interested in but just installed a Gardner exhaust on my 427 68 and fit was spectacular and super close to the original system in appearance and sound.

As far as after market mufflers go, Ive used alot, borla/magnaflow,flowmaster but sound wise I prefer good ole dynomax super turbos. I know they're not exotic or especially good looking but they're nice and quiet on cruise but give a nice classic V8 sound at WOT.

I can't help you with the 427 sound but my 72 is a small block with headers and the Magnaflow mufflers sound great. Not as harsh as Flow Masters.

Stainless works has a manifold back system for the 427 in SS or aluminized. Unfortunately I bought the Flowmaster 817695 , only to find that no one seems to sell a good mandrel bent front pipe. When I opened the box from Flowmaster the first item on the instruction states you need another part number that is not listed on website. When I called Flowmaster the guy told me they do not make the parts anymore. That the system is made to bolt up to headers. I told him that is not what the website states. The guy hung up on me. My vendor has been waiting over a month to get a return label and has since removed their items from his website.
