Hi frb,
It's impossible to tell from one picture.
The part is a casting which means it could be warped. Put it and the right side grill on a known flat surface and compare them in various directions.
There could be something going on with the body in the vicinity of the lip the grill settles in, or there might be something behind the grill preventing it from seating properly.
When did it last fit well? Ever??

It was that way when I bought the car. I had them off a few weeks ago while painting them and compared both sides and they matched each other perfectly. No obstructions stopping it from fitting flush, it just doesn't.
