Removed dash panel to repair my tach in removing the lamp sockets split into two pieces , the holder and the clips that hold the assembly to the back of the tach. Needless to say 2 of the lamps fell onto the back of the tach. What do I do with these socket ? Do I have to splice in new ones or can the old ones be pressed and glued back together ?

Not sure what year car, but I had to replace some of the light sockets on my 75. I searched the internet and found some single wire sockets for the LB-1895 bulbs for $1.50 each. They did not have grey wire to match, but I have marking tape for that.
I soldered the wires and then put heat shrink on it, worked great. I don't think we can give out non-supporting websites, but think about classic GM trucks if you search for the sockets.
Hi,
I couldn't find a way to repair 2 of the sockets from my 71's dash that 'seperated'.
The larger Corvette vendors sell the single socket with pigtail too if you happen to be placing an order for other things.

LRB's method for installing works well.

I used JB Weld 2-part (tube) epoxy to fix them. Use a toothpick to put a dab of epoxy on each of the 2 'slots' where the clip installs on the socket. Then, press the socket into those slots and allow it to harden. They should be plenty solid to reinstall.
Whenever you pull one of those sockets out, you need to use a small pry or screwdriver to CAREFULLY and GENTLY pop the socket out of its hole. If you just try to snap them out, they'll almost always fall apart.
I would recommend that you epoxy ALL of your sockets this way, if you have access to them.
