Default Threaded Port ?????

Can anyone tell me if there is a threaded port into the oil galley on my 350 block? I am thinking about adding an oil accumulator and want to know where to plumb it in to do the most good. Thanks. This would be on my 81.

A couple of thoughts come to mind. There is a port above the oil filter where the oil temperature sender threads into the block. The second is at the China wall where the oil pressure sender threads in.

I must admit that I don't know what hat an oil accumulator is so couldn't tell you if either of the above would meet your needs.

CA-LEGAL VETTE,
Thanks for the reply. An oil accumulator is a pre oiling unit that pushes oil through the motor before starting the car. I am looking at an accusump unit. Thanks again.

An oil accumulator does not push oil through the engine prior to starting it. Its purpose is to maintain oil pressure of an operating engine when taking hard turns or during hard braking (when sump oil may slosh away from the sump screen, causing it to suck air). The oil accumulator has to have oil pressure [from an operating engine] for it to work.

If you had an oil accumulator installed on your engine, and it had a one-way, electrically-operated check valve that could seal without ANY leakage [for a significant period of time], you might be able to do what you want. But, I doubt that there is a check-valve made that will seal for more than a few minutes.

7T1,
A few years ago I had an oil accumulator from Canton Racing that had a shrader valve on the end so you could put in 10psi and also had a shut off valve that you would turn off just before shutting off the engine. Thus the oil would be inside the cylinder with 10PSI behind it so before you started the engine you would turn the shut off valve back to the open position and oil the motor.
