This winter weather has held parts of the country in it's grip for months. I live in Central Texas where we seldom experience what many of you go through each winter. I don't know what it's like to have to put your Corvette up for months on end waiting for the weather to warm up.
I am in the midst of a motor change on my '81. I am trying to clean up the frame and engine compartment while the engine is out. I've ordered the paint and parts that I need to get my car back on the road. The bottom line is I can't get my parts delivered because of this stinking weather. Everything seems to be delayed because of the weather. Even if I got the paint and parts it's too damn rainy and cold here to work on it.
Ok. I feel better now. I'm glad my Corvette isn't under six feet of snow and I'm glad God gave me another day of this precious life so that I could bitch about something.
Yup... it`s funny to me that last week we went to the NC mountains to play in the snow for a couple days.... and back here in FL today it`s in the 80s and the AC is running!
I live in the south because I don't mind dealing w/ the heat-however can't stand this cold crap.
I have finally got my motor running after several years-but can't really run it because I have to open my basement garage door- otherwise fill the house w/ fumes or freeze my a$$ off....
Thanks Al Gore!!
Finally will be 70º- but the next day it'll only be 40º!!!
soooo ready for spring. got new heads , cam and sidepipes on and I cant even get a decent enough day to take it for a couple mile spin. we just had the coldest February in 140 years here in michigan.

Carry on Corvette brethren.
I feel better just reading your rant even though I have this, will spring ever come
Hey Oldgto I was breaking a sweat the other day, and as nice as it is I can't work on my car and it has zero to do with the weather...in fact in a way I wish it was because of the weather that would be easier to deal with....

Ha, well it might get to 70 Tuesday. But, another cold snap is on the way later this week. Sucks beyond belief.
We've been in the deep-freeze here in Pa. for weeks, this pic is the Monongahela river, a mile from my house, taken yesterday. It's been a long time since it's completely frozen over like this.

My car won't be out for a while...
Think how much worse it would be without the phenomenon of global warming.
I had parts coming which were due to arrive today, but UPS bumped it back to last Friday. I asked the driver why early deliivery and he said it was due to weather. Go figure. I am happy.
This weather sucks up in the NE. Never mind the snow the road salt is awful!! My 71 and 88 are in the garage with their trickle chargers on them. Even when it warms up I'm going to have to wait for the rains to wash the salt of the roads. Spring can't come fast enough... More snow here tomorrow and Thursday!!

Still at the shop? I know it`s a killer when the weather is perfect... but I`m sitting here waiting for the big brown truck to bring my parts!
Everything is frozen here. Not to much snow but enough to be annoying and not get things done. We have had so much ice here. My driveway I skated down it yesterday. The other day I pulled my truck close to the garage. I looked out 5 minutes later and it was at the bottom. It slide down the driveway. Fortunately nothing was behind it. Strange to see a F150 sliding down the driveway. We are getting more ice tonight. Some rain tomorrow then predicted another 4 to 6 inches Thursday.
I didn't mind the winter as much, in the past, as I had a really nice, heated, insulated, and well lit garage, at my mother's house. The "toys" would go in there in mid-late November, and I could work on them through the winter, no matter how bad it was outside. Sadly, she developed Alzheimer's several years ago, and I had to give up the garage, as she went into a nursing home, and the house was sold.
I was able to put a small addition on the garage at my house, but due to zoning rules, it's barely big enough to get the cars inside, let alone have any room to work on them. However, I can relate to the wintertime blues. This is what I've been looking at for the last 2 months, and the forecast isn't any better, for the near future....
