I have a 1979 c-3 350 , 700R4 tranny, well lets start off by saying I messed up everything was fine until I got the wiper switch in then I was bored and like a dummy started messing around with the speedo and yep you know it I broke it, Willcox has needles for $14.00 I think I will buy 3 just incase I get stupid again. My question is how do you remove and replace the speedo needle on my 1979 https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...withstupid.gif
Broke it? Did you break the thin shaft that the needle fits onto....or did you break the pointer off the needle assembly?
I usually hold the needle assembly with a pair of small pliers directly over the thin shaft and push down slowly/gently...it only needs to go onto the shaft 1/32 to 1/16 inch.
Wait for other members with more knowledge to reply....and it's good to have a spare needle (or two).

The small shaft is good the white pointer the part that points to the speed is the one I broke, just another question, has anyone used the 194 LED lights??

I read a couple threads about them last night....most of them cannot be dimmed and are too bright.
There is a certain brand/type of led's that can be dimmed.....do a forum search on led.
