Default Hub Cap Identification Please

One for the expert panel today: (well actually 3)

I've begun collecting hub caps for the walls of my garagemahal. Sounded like a good idea when I came across a set of 5 PO2's in good driver quality shape for.... wait for it 60 bones. I've since sent 4 of those early 70's spokes to a friend for his 71. Leaving me one to hang up.

But since then I've acquired a few GM/chevy rims I can't ID. I am entirely confient that one of you guys can.

The first set pictured (in pics 1 & 2) is stamped 1970 Norris Industries on the back and say General Motors Corporation on the front center cap. They are stainless and sharp. But I can't find any of those for 1970. In 71 and 72 these supposedly were on cameros and chevelles, but I can't confirm that, nor does it answer the question for 1970.

The second and thirds sets pictured side by side in pic 3 are from a 58 and 61 chevy of some kind (I'm now told), though not likely a vette (as I was told). A little help fellas?

They were very inexpensive and were in very good condition overall, so I suppose it makes little difference as they will only hang on the wall. But, I prefer to have an informed conversation (and an accurate one) about the conversation pieces in the garage.

As always, thanks in advance for the time and expertise.

I'm not an expert on the wire caps, but 2 of the "wheel covers" are definitely for a '58 Impala, and I'm 99% sure the single one, is a '60 Impala cover.

Impala... I thank you. Still good enough for the wall. Now, how about the gmc rims? Anyone?

The wheel cover on the left is the optional full wheel cover available on any full size (Biscayne, Bel Air, & Impala) 1960 Chevrolet. The wheel covers on the right were optional on all 58 Chevrolets. Small "dog dish" hub caps, were standard on all full size Chevrolets back then, with full wheel covers being offered as an option.

I don't think the wire wheel covers, were ever used on any Chevrolet. Normally, GM wheel covers had the individual GM brand's name (Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, etc) on the center emblem. This was true of both production line and over the counter parts. The wire wheel covers used on Chevrolets of the 70's, had a smaller round center cap, that had both the Chevrolet bow tie and said "Chevrolet", on them. I've never seen a GM wire cover, with a hex head center cap.

The only GM line the carried the General Motors name, was the GMC truck line, but I don't remember any wheel cover like that being used on GMC pick-ups in the early 70's. They are reminiscent of a wire wheel cover offered on early 80's GMC Sprints (a version of the El Camino sold through GMC dealers), but even those likely said GMC on them, not General Motors?

The wire wheel covers may have been something available through GM dealer's parts departments. It's even more likely that they were an aftermarket wheel cover, available through places such as Pep Boys, Sears, etc.

None of the wheel covers pictured, were ever used on a Corvette.

The set of simulated wire covers are "GM Accessory" covers. They were very similar to factory installed covers but without the locking parts and not car division specific and therefore much cheaper than factory installed covers. They were listed in the "accessories" section of the parts catalogs. Chip.

Thanks very much everyone,
Karol I thought the same thing, except all four are clearly stamped 1970 Norris industries on the back. But again thanks for the info. I knew someone here would shed light on it.
