Trailing arms 74
Like it has been said before...."It's better to be LUCKLY...than good". ( or something like that).
Using the good lower shock mount bolt removing tool and big hammer....when I hit it three times and see that the lower shock bolts is moving...I keep going.....thus.....5 minutes...its out And oddly enough....I come across many that come out fairly easy. THEN...there are the ones that FIGHT like heck to come out. In 90+% of the cases the strut rods are being replaced with new ones....so I will cut the end where the bushing is in two pieces and then I am able to get to the inner sleeve and finally get the lower shock mount bolt to come out. And in just about every case....the lower shock mount bolts needs to be replaced due to the splines that aid in locking it into position are wiped out and basically USELESS.
And YES...odd as it seems...when I come across numerous lower shock mount bolts that come basically right out....I KNOW I am in for a car that will make me FIGHT like heck to get JUST ONE out.
