74 Starting Problem
74 350 4 speed, will normally start in gear or neutral, will start with clutch up if in neutral, etc, seems like former owner has by passed all the starter safety switches.
Car starts fine 90% of the time, occasionally I will turn the key, no starter. If I open the hood and jump the starter solenoid from the battery connection, car starts fine.
Problem is very intermittant. At that orange override relay on passenger firewall, 'bubba' has attached a black wire (that goes back inot the interior above the steering column) to the Light Green/Black wire, bypassing the orange relay.
The wiring diagram shows the wire on the starter solenoid to be Purple, how does this Light Green/Black wire feed the purple wire on the starter solenoid, as I am guessing it does?
Also, what is the possibility the ignition switch/tumbler is just wearing out after 40 years?
