Question About 1971 Ignition Switches
My '71 has an accessory position on it's aftermarket STANDARD ignition switch but that position doesn't allow me to use my radio. I can only use my radio when the ignition switch is turned ON which means I'd have a 4 amp HEI drain. Do these 1971's even have an accessory position in their ignition switches or just a non-working detent for them?
Its wired to the OEM radio HOT wire so it should be correct. My ignition switch has a detent right before the ON position and I'm wondering if that is the accessory position. Once its turned OFF it can't be rotated any further in that direction. I may just wire it into the BAT terminal on the fuse block and have it off the ignition circuit altogether.
