This looks like a Vette that I knew as a small kid from Laurel Maryland. (Late 70's/Early 80's) A friend of my dad's owned a showcar then, it was the "Cactus Vette". It had that green & gold metalflake paint scheme. My memory of the car is a bit fuzzy, as I was only around 5 yrs. Old at the time, so almost 40 yrs. Ago. My dad & the vette owner were in a car club then called "Injectors of Maryland". They had big car shows at Timonium fairgrounds in Timonium Md. I sent pics to my dad & he's pretty sure that is the one his friend owned.
For the guy talking about "bad airbrushing", IF this is the car I knew, it was built & painted in the mid 70's. NONE of that car was airbrushed. ALL of that paintwork layout, murals, & pinstriping were done by hand. (An almost completely lost art form). If anyine has never actually watched someone, in person, do hand pinstriping, you have no idea of the skill and artistic level that takes.
A motion built car?!?!?!?
a few people mentioned that...
considering when and where it was built I would not be surprised if the parts are motion...but the motions that fetch high dollars are the ones built in house by motion with full on documentation which so far are pretty well accounted for...in a way....
Do you know where it was built? I'm asking because of my post below....
My dad's friend owned this car. My dad sent me this picture of it today. It is sitting in the front yard of my childhood house. He thinks this pic was from 1977, which would have made me 2 yrs. Old at the time. B
I like it just as is. That would have been way cool to have mid 70s. Most of the cars cruzin the strip were custom not many stock ones at all. I was driving a real deal boss 302 pro street. pro stock hood scoop with twin 650s centerlines trac bars ect. Nowadays most people like stock its just not for me. Had a few friends with metalflake paint jobs and they look good at night under the lights if done properly.
