My 71 was built in Jan 71 and has amber parking lamp lenses in the front. Should these be clear? From what I understand the early 71's all had cleat lenses. Thanx for the info.
I knew it. Some where along the way my car got robbed of the clears. So should I get after market? Or look for originals. If after market what is the best brand. Thanx.
1971 C3's had clear lenses and amber bulbs. 1972 had amber lenses and clear bulbs. My car was built in December of 1970...clear lenses and amber bulbs.
Hi CVO,
The Trim Parts reproduction lenses are very nice.
My TP catalogue is 10 years old so I'm not sure what the going price should be today.
Regards,
Alan
The correct answer is, either clear or Amber are correct. There was a running change. This happens in auto manufacturing today. Car models today have about a 7 year production life with minor changes throughout and a somewhat major change midway through. I have a 71 with amber lights and has always been in our family. The variances in the 71 make it tough to restore due to these variations. I actually prefer the clear, but rather keep my original lenses than purchase clear aftermarket.
