Default back up light wiring help 70 C3

Looking for help with back up wiring on a manual 70 vette. Vehicle came with a Nash 5 spd and would like to get the back up lights working. No sign of any wiring under the car. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks JFG15

Should be a green and pink wire pair for the BU lights.

Hi jfg,
On the original 4-speed transmission the back-up light switch was mounted on a small bracket bolted to the transmission case.
A small rod ran from the reverse lever to the switch to turn the lights on and off.
The electrical connection actually ran forward to the firewall, through a grommet in the firewall, and then joined the rear lighting harness running through the interior until it exited through a large grommet in the lower left corner of the rear bulkhead.
I'd think your 5 speed has some provision for a switch…. does it?
Regards,
Alan

I have always seen the LIGHT GREEN and PINK wires get routed through a firewall grommet...between the wiper motor and the brake master cylinder/booster area.

The wiring on the factory back up light switch for a four speed is not long enough to make it into the car.
