Was able to see the War Birds at Chicago Executive Airport,
I wanted to get up close and take the picture with the Vette next to the B24 we went on but, security said NO. This was the best I could do
The ride in the B24, named Witch Craft was amazing!!!!!
Cool shot, the P-51 is a better match anyway for the great lines of the C3. In my opinion the P-51 is the best looking fighter of WW2 (maybe of all time) and the early C3 the best looking Corvette. Thanks for sharing!
The first time for this plane here the B25 Maurader Corvette. This was the type of plane used to bomb the Japanese as pay back, the mission, the Doolittle Raid
I worked on that B-24 20 years ago when it broke down in KPSP! Nice to see it again. The highlight of my life in aviation was to have the privilege to work on several flying examples of aircraft from the second world war and I know it made my father very proud as he was a pilot on Martin B-26 Marauders during the war. Mike
And last but not least, the B24 Liberator Corvette
What a amazing ride we had. 450$ for a 45 minute flight. I used my flip camera and the files are just too large to post. I will never forget the experience.
The man in the wheel chair is 97 years old and flew this very plane!! He needs the chair just to drive around the ***** of steel he has!!

There's some great pictures here. Thanks for sharing!
I have never flown in a WWII war bird but I have toured a B17. While anyone whose has served this country is a hero there's a reason the WWII vets are called "the greatest generation". These planes define "in harms way" and "bravery".
Very cool. I had to visit Ohio this weekend for a wedding, so I went a day early and spent a day at Wright-Patterson Air Force museum. I just enjoy checking out all those fine old warbirds. There was an old vet who served in WW2 on our bus to the experimental annex.
When I flew home I had to fly up in the cockpit. The pilot was a former B1 captain. All in all it was a great trip.
Check out this link to the 450th bomb group. My Dad was a co-pilot on a B-24. Three crash landings, lived a full life, got "stick time" in Witchcraft at 88 years old! (see video link at bottom of the page) Took his "Final Flight" last January at 92... Quite a man as ALL our Vets are.

Great story Mike! Looks like your father was in fantastic shape, a life well lived and someone to be proud of! Thanks for sharing and God Bless those those that serve.
