The lady told us it had been tuned up recently. I do not know how long a period of time that was. My friend was a NASA engineer and had a race car C-2. He put a used condenser in the car and it ran fine, is all that I know. Lou.

your choice, carry spare points, they seldom fail,
and you drive home with the car running rough.
or carry spare electronic module, they do fail more frequently than points.
and when they fail, you are stranded.
personally I really do not see a Hugh advantage of upgrading to HEI.
and your removing some of the original components. which tend to disappear never to be seen again.

Show me documented unbiased report that prove that statement, if so I might switch back to points...on second thought, no I won't.

I sold my original points distributor to a guy wanting to do his Corvette all original and I bought a new HEI distributor. I never looked back. I lived with points cars growing up and don't miss them.
