C3 Stolen :-(
I also feel like you have a good chance of getting some help from our club, its kind of what we do, help each other on our cars. Really good bunch of guys that have a lot of smarts on C3s. See what the shop says as well as your insurance company. You can check us out anytime. Join the forum and ask as many questions as you like. All the members are aware of your situation as we have been discussing different ideas for protecting our cars over the last day or so. It's what we do, usually meet once a month for lunch and work on our cars. No dues, no officers and full membership participation. Here is the site, anyone can join and be engaged in our forum:

Any of the CF members are more than welcome to check us out as well. MrM

Sorry individuals out there that's for sure , makes me feel good that mines been in the garage the past 2 years .
One of my cars was a victim of a hit and run in the middle of the night. I called the police the next day and they wanted me to just drive into the PD and fill out some paperwork for the complaint. They couldn't be bothered to send a cop out to look at it or anything.
At that point the only value would have been to get the complaint for insurance, and it wasn't worth my time considering my deductible and the value of the car that was hit, so I didn't file.
Whoever did it absolutely got away with it.

I'm a police officer with 24 years experience.
Previously, a county wide parole officer.
Previously, a Marine.
I hope this at the very least qualifies me to comment here.
First, I take no offense to any comments made in earlier posts as I'm way way beyond personalizing the job.
I'd like to preface by saying a patrolman on duty, mindful of his surroundings picked up on the tag reader a stolen plate hit.
Good job
Now in my jurisdiction we have 3 officers for 22,000 residents.
It is virtually impossible to watch everyones property.
We have allot of Burglaries as we border Philadelphia.
I know its property and its insured or it should be any how.
If we can develop leads we do.
I also have suicidal teens who can't function.
Retail Thefts from our stores.
Domestics because people can't get along.
Public drunks because people can't drink responsibiy.
DUI cause they can't drive and drink well.
Traffic cause the boss wants us to justify our existence.
And you want it when....

I think you get my point.
Yes I know it's the job I signed up for.
I can't imagine what it's like in the Houston area for PD.
I can for comparison sake share some info about Philadelphia.
Here's Phila. PD's response time.
45min -1 hr for a founded burglary.
You'll sit outside on the step and wait.
Minor traffic collision, they no longer respond.
You sort it out between yourselves.
Publis answer:
everybody calls 911 now and reports man with a gun calls to get
you there.
They call 911 for an ambulance when they need a free cab ride.
A city in excess of 3 million people 5th largest in the nation
with a police force reduced from over 7500 to 5800 over the last
several decades while the population grew?
So the next you hear CNN reporting some ball wash story about
the police hopefully you'll realize we have allot more to do than find your wife or car.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
If it does wind up totaled I'll see if I can get info on its sale in case anyone is interested. I assume it'll be a good deal.

I live at the beach ....lots of younger families.
I'm still amazed at the amount of young fellows in the 7-13 range , stoping their parents pointing ....look at the corvette. It was the way I was 45 years ago......you bet they will remember .....and one day they might just want one themselves.
