Hey all. First, thanks to all that have answered my sometimes (OK, OK; most times) inane questions. Well, she's finally home. My first C3. Couldn't be happier. She's far from perfect, and the purists out there will undoubtedly scoff at me. But no matter at all. She does it for me and my kids have already named her. Yes, it's a her even though "she" sports the original #s matching 427/390 block, and has nasty side pipes that sound like 12 angry giants.
I wasn't crazy about the color (original is Fathom Green), the luggage rack and the wheels. But the wrong color was figured into the purchase, and all are growing on me; well, maybe except for the wheels. There's just something about those stock Rally wheels.
Well, anyway, one project at a time, including some mechanical things that need fixing. But until then, there's nothing (I mean nothing) quite like rumbling down the road on a sunny Saturday afternoon with the top down...
Hi c,
WELL! That one GREAT looking car!!!!
A 69, big block, convertible; many people's dream car.
I hope you have a terrific time with and it gives a lot of pleasure!
How about a few more pictures?…. does the hood open?
Again, what a beauty!
Regards,
Alan
PS: Think about perhaps blacking-out the fastener heads on the side pipe covers; please.
Thx guys. The wheels are definitely growing on me; good quality American Racing wheels. I'll keep 'em on for a while and see what happens.
Alan, we're in luck: the hood does open! Unfortunately, the same cant be said for the wiper door assembly, and the lights only go up (and retract) one at a time. Need to figure those things out. And, yes, definitely gonna black-out the fastener heads on the pipe covers.
A few other mechanical issues that I'll probably post in the tech forum.
Anyway, here are a few more pics. Yup, radio is not period correct, but needed more power to support new Polk Audio front/rear speakers and digital tuning for USB so I can listen to Johnny Cash 24/7.
I hope mom is resting.... Congratulations Pappa, light cigars now...
Looks super the way she sits. Just drive it and enjoy, and if you serious about changing the wheels, go Rally with Red Line tires
