Default steering linkage

I have a 1969 that I am trying to restoring to NCRS standards. My car has manual steering , the judging manual said that the tie rods are natural finish (bare steel) but from what I read does not say what the relay rod colour is ( connects the steering arm to the idler arm) ? does any one know if this is also bare steel or Black or what ? a picture would be great!
Thanks Peter

Your pic's popped up just after I posted to the previous one
The finish that you are showing in your pic's looks like it could be done with a paint build up but that can't be right
It will be interesting to get some other opinions
thanks Peter

That was to simulate a natural finish. I think both the Idler arm and relay rod were forged and tended to have a bluish gray finish, hence the paint to appear that way.

What paint brand and color did you use. Looks great!
