Default 1971 Rear Valance Question

I need to buy a filler panel. Who seems to make the best quality fiberglass parts? I've heard Eckler's quality is poor. Mid America has the panel for $130 more than Eckler's. I'd hate to order from Mid America if there's one company shooting out fiberglass parts to all of the different distributors. Any recommendations?

Hi HT,
That big a difference in price might be because you were comparing a hand laid ( HL cheaper) part as opposed to a press molded part ( PM more expensive).

Alan

There should be plenty of good used panels around for less money

I used one from Ecklers with no big issues. It's been my experience tho that any fiberglass part you get for these cars is going to require some modification. Nothing fits right out of the box.

I put a new door skin on my 72 that came from Eckler's and it took some work to make it fit and it had some pit defects on the surface but overall not too bad . I just received a whole front clip from Eckler's for a friends 54 Corvette and the quality and fit when I installed it were pretty good but the part had several places that were damaged and packaged that way and they wouldn't admit that they sent it that way. There was no damage to the shipping cart. There was a puncture in the front panel that could have only happened before packaging and cracks in places from poor handling before shipping . Eckler's gets a lot of bad reviews anymore.
