Everyone I know buys classics cars with little things to fix. Has anyone ever actually perfected their car or is there always more to do. I want to one day have my 1976 look just like the ones in the magazines but I feel like that it may never come through.
The one most important and valuable lesson I've learned about Corvettes is "if it stops leaking, it must be out of fluid".
I've never thought of making it perfect. Heck, I just want to stop taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back. After pulling the engine and having it completely rebuilt 6 years ago, now the rear crankshaft seal is leaking. I absolutely hate having to do something over again...when there are so many other things on the list to take care of.
I went through judging last year on a national level. Scored a 97% and achieved a duntov with a basically unrestored car. I have no interest in fixing much at this point...I have really just been enjoying my car.
I would like to find an original bright blue E brake console without a crack.
If you have a 20, 30, 40, etc year old car, it will never perfect until you learn how to run the clock backwards to the time it rolled off the assembly line. It's a matter of thermodynamics with respect to entropy.
I consider all my upgrades having made my car perfect. Everything plays together exceptionally well .. Power / handling / breaking all as good as a 2015 .. Paint, interior, rims and tires all flow perfectly ..
And anyone who has or would ride in her would agree it is as good as you will get for not just a c-3 but a resto-mod of any brand..
