Nice! I am using C5 Suspension with my build - So I wont be using trailing arms.

If I were doing a stock frame I would definitely use VanSteel - Excellent Quality.

Robert, the two small brackets with the captive nuts, bolt between the bottom of the rear frame and help hold the rear fiberglass panel in the license plate area. That heavy plate welded on the passenger side frame, obviously held the bubba battery in the C-2 location.
Hope that this helps you out. Lou.

Lou That does help - Thanks! I will check out the license plate area - see if the other one is still in place.

I figured that plate would have been for a battery. I'm going to have to figure out a battery location myself. I will have to remove the rear compartments to allow my frame to fit.

Your right side bumper guard is for a 70-72 Corvette. I am sure that the rear brackets are available if you do not find your other one. Lou.

If I was you I'd start seeking for a donor clip from now on. A cheap one would be a big save.
On the bright side, as said Richard, the chassis is in very fair shape.
Keep it up

Lou, Thanks again! I was wondering what the deal was, It didnt look like that piece fell off. I will keep identifying the rest of the chrome and make sure I have a complete 1969 set before I sent them out to be re-chromed.

You seem to know your stuff, thanks for looking out and helping me! I am sure I will have more questions that you will be able to answer.

Default Post over in Paint/Body

I posted over in Paint/Body to get a second opinion on that front clip of mine. No offense to those who have already given your .02 on it. I just wanted a second set of eyes on it from the paint/body experts before I chop off my front end - Ya know?

Cracked/Fractured Front Clip on a C3 - Can it be saved?

Kevin and Robert, I have a nearly brand new copper radiator (BB 454) that I won't be reusing if either of you are interested.

Trans and Differential arrived at SRIII for Mock up... without Bushings

I ordered a set of bushings that will be there tomorrow. So that will get back on track.

Over the weekend, I removed:

The rest of the electrical.
The rest of the interior (Almost)
The pedal boxes
The Bubba patch panels in the foot wells

I was busy and forgot to take as many pictures as I normally like to.

Bubba's patch panel left a fun surprise on the floor

Same on the drivers side

Removed the factors antenna

Anyone have experience removing these? IT looks like its just as easy as drilling out the rivets. Best to come from the top or bottom?

Last pieces of the interior that needed to come out

Antenna out

Progress

Inside of the rear... anyone else notice what I just did?

Insides of the rear tailights

Default More Media Blasting

Spent an hour on Friday on the blasting cabinet.

I never will cease to be amazed. One of the bumper mounting brackets is pretty bent. Any recommendations for getting it back into shape?

Default vette

Hey those seat belt brackets look very familiar. To answer your removal question yes just drill them out. Usually from the top where the flat pan head of the rivet is. A small bit in center will do the trick. Putting them back on is a bit of a challenge. Since you are doing a resto mod I guess you could use what ever to put them back on. Going original I had to use the original rivets. A lot of floor board and tunnel repairs. Plenty of laminating and resin in your future. All doable .
Good Luck!

Thanks! I think the next session on the Vette will be removing most if not all those brackets that are attached to the fiberglass. Where did you get your replacement brackets? What size bit to drill them out? 1/8th?

Great pictures too by the way

The parts came from Zip and Paragon. !/8 bit is fine and a center punch before you drill. Zip has the rivets if you go that route.
