Default Windscreen problem ?

I noticed this a while back but don't recall seeing anything in that area when I bought the car a year ago..

It's milky and could be spreading. I'm going to put some black dots where it reaches now and see how it looks in a month or so.

I think it's the original glass so would prefer to keep if it's possible to stop it getting worse ?

Your windshield is starting to delaminate. It could be caused by a couple of reasons, the windshield frame/birdcage is starting to rust (applying pressure on the corners) and/or it's just getting old. It's somewhat common to see this on C3's.
It will usually continue to delaminate and eventually crack.

Thanks Revi.

Not really what I wanted to hear but I guess the search for a replacement starts now then.

Hi bv,
If you take a look at the passenger's side corner of the windshield you'll see the manufacturer's logo and a 2 letter date code.
That'll tell you pretty quickly if it's the original windshield for the car or not.
Regards,
Alan

Something like this….
VT is December 1970 for instance.
