1970 Tank sticker
If a 1970 tank sticker was not found during the previous owners frame off restoration, and carpet replacement....
Is it easy or worth it to check anywhere else?

Value of the tank sticker depends on what options the car came with and if you're trying to sell. If it came with a performance engine you may be asked to prove the installed engine came with the car. A tank sticker helps quite a lot. If the car is a base model, low options, probably not worth as much but nice to have.
Only other place I've heard of a copy being found is behind the instrument panel.

1970 Tank sticker
A frame off means the car was completely disassembled and put back together. If they didn't find a sticker at that time I doubt one exists.

Hi R,
I agree with BB, while knowing who has done what to a car during it's history is the only way to be sure of what happened to the tank sticker, not having one on the tank after a "frame off restoration" may or may not mean anything.
The sticker could have innocently disappeared during a gas tank change for some reason (years ago people didn't know it was a good idea to keep it) or, it might have disappeared for a more nefarious reason…. the sticker didn't correspond with what the car had become over the years.
So I'd think the importance of a missing tank sticker varies from car to car…. on a base motor car with just a couple of options it probably is more of a novelty than an important piece of documentation; but on a ZR-1 or LT-! with a/c, it would be very nice to have.
Generally a car can/will tell it's own story if given a chance.
Regards,
Alan

I agree the "value" is arguable... I was just curious how difficult it would be to see if it is behind the tachometer/speedometer without taking a nice interior apart.
The whole purpose behind this is just for "novelty"

Hi R,
If you lay upside down in the foot wells you can look up behind the dash pads well enough to see if the sheet's on either side.
If you remove the 2 small extensions on the front sides of the shifter console you can look behind/above the radio to see if it's there.
Doing that only takes 5 minutes if your back can take it.
The likelihood of the sheet still being there after a "frame-off restoration" is slim though.
Regards,
Alan
I guess the information on the stamp pad on the engine, and the trim tag on the hinge pillar is actually more important at this point…and at least you have that !!
