For my 72 road race replica I have moved from power windows to manual windows and would like to re-purpose the window switches on my center console.
Has anyone here on the forum either removed and repurposed, or replaced with something else, these switches? Location looks good for a rocker switch but what they would operate I am not certain.
If you have ideas, examples, or just hate the idea that is okay, let me know. Looking to improve the car, not bubba it.

This may not apply to you, but since I went with electric headlight & wiper doors, I`m considering using power window switches (that would be located in the ash tray area) as the over-ride switches, to replace the original vaccum switches under the steering column.
nice looking console. replace it with repro 69 bucks... http://www.ebay.com/itm/191482264630?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT and sell yours. or put LA hoopdie suspension in it and use the switches to raise the outside and lower the inside of the car as it is going into a turn.
OK, since its going all race car hot rod with this one (I love that by the way), why not repurpose one switch to be a line lock / anti roll control, the other could be for a set of exhaust cut outs combined with a relay of some sort.
Just a thought and my contribution to the process.
They are momentary single pole double throw (AKA as SPDT )- so you can do a lot with them-on the flip side- if you want them to just turn something on and stay on- probably need to figure a latching relay in the system.
Originally I was going to use mine to control the electric exhaust cutouts- so you could just bump the switch and vary the opening from closed to wide open.
There's a whole list of other things- depending what you are doing w/ the car.
the sticker or the tach in my Fathers face, but his eye sight is really bad, but don't ask-- it is an old drag racer thing! But i like clean consoles (business only) and a discrete switch plate is how I set up his car! I posted our infamous header flanges in the other thread of yours!

Thank you for this. Fit for function, exactly what I'm sorting through now. If it doesn't perform a specific functioon I want then it won't fit in the car.
Gauges selected are the auto meter with an added oil temp to replace the clock. Power windows changed to manual. Power steering and brakes retained and hydro boost to be added. New seats needed with harnesses.
Frame assembly to rolling chassis is next up.
Thanks for sharing.
