Bubba style thermostat
Thought I would check what thermostat Bubba was running in my 68 convert. Bubba had a really fancy engine, with chrome everywhere and a polished billet aluminum thermostat housing with polished allen bolts securing it. Unfortunately the concept of what a thermostat was supposed to do was beyond his grasp. This little plate (flow restrictor?) was where the thermostat should be. Bubba strikes again. RA

Do not be surprised that IF you put a thermostat in...you MIGHT FIND that you could possibly be putting this 'flow restrictor ' right back in. Because the engine now runs at a temperature that is in an operating temp that makes some people nervous.
As you more than likely know... companies actually sell these restrictors. Honestly...this is not that bad of a 'Bubba strikes again' scenario.
