***New Convertible top Issues***
Need some opinions guys. I just had my convertible top installed and it is simply unacceptable in fit and finish.
The upholstery shop that did the install is saying the top was simply too small, and are recommending it be sent back.
When it came time to purchase the top, I did do research, and the results came back to go with an Al Knock Top, which is what I did.After looking at the top, the body shop foreman even agrees. So it's sounding like we are going to have to send the top back and go elsewhere for a top.
*On a side note, it seems the factory top material isn't canvas either. What's your opinions on canvas vs the pvc or factory type?

Hi,
The original convertible tops were made of a solid vinyl material in a woven pattern.
The front 'roll' at the windshield header was a 'leatherette' patterned vinyl.
I do hear that folks have problems installing the Knock tops, but since I have no experience with one myself so can't/shouldn't comment.
