Default Where does this wire go? 1970 BB...

1970 BB, brand new engine wire harness. It's to the right of the wiper motor as you look at it from the front. Any ideas?

Chad, please state the year of your Corvette in any post needing information! You have a 1970 and every year has different wiring everywhere. I have a 68 so I am sorry that I can not help you on that, as GM wired my one year only wiper motor by cutting the ground and leaving the wiper motor hot all of the time, even with the key off and out of the car...genius engineering at it's finest! Lou.

Not sure about the black stripe but I believe that wire should be the one that goes over to the wiper-door switch and allows power to the wiper motor once the door is open
???

Connects to this guy on the 72's anyway

Hi W,
I'm thinking the same as M!
Regards,
Alan

(I believe the back-up lamp is a 2 wire (green/pink) connector) that comes through the firewall out of the dash harness, it's not part of the engine harness).

That tape is not GM. It looks like a splice, possibly for a 12v source for some after-market accessory.

I think it may be the jumper connector for TI ignition cars...

My 70 had TI ignition and I removed it in the 80's. (I still have everything). But I also replaced the harness in the late 80's... I have the same connector and it is taped like yours right at the clip on the firewall. The wire color is actually black with a pink stripe.

When you trace the wire back it goes to the ignition switch.

I have the same wires n my 68 with a double connector and everything works. No backup lights. Stand corrected. The lightghts would be under the rear bumper.
